Gold jewellery typically is a special significance and a symbol of wealth to its owner. It also has its own sentimental value as in many cases the jewellery may have been a gift from a special person, a family heirloom or maybe it is a treat the person bought for themselves. We will always want it looking its best, so it is necessary to clean your jewellery. So here are some easy cleaning methods that you can try at home.
This is the common and effective method that we always use to clean our jewellery. You need to prepare a soft bristle toothbrush and a toothpaste. But bear in mind not to use medium bristled toothbrush as it could damage your jewellery. Simply put a small amount of the toothpaste to your toothbrush and then scrub it thoroughly. Be careful when scrubbing and don’t scrub too hard as it could potentially scratch the jewellery. Once done, rinse thoroughly to prevent unsightly residue.
2. Tamarind water
Soak the jewellery into the tamarind water for six hours and then rinse it with tap water. After that, you can dry it with clean cloth. This is the easiest method that you can try at home because it can lower the risk of the jewellery from getting damage.
Prepare a tea water without putting sugar in it. Soak the jewellery in tea water for at least one hour. After that, you can clean the residue with a brush and rinse it with water. For an effective result, soak it more than one hour.
4. Hot water
This method is a good way to clean the jewellery without gemstones. Put the jewellery in an appropriate container then pour hot water into it. Let it soak until the water cool down. After that you can rinse it with tap water and dry it with clean cloth.
5. Dishwasher liquid
Put a few drops of dishwashing liquid into a bowl of warm water. Stir it until bubbles appear and put your jewellery in it and soak it for 15 minutes. Then, clean it with a brush and rinse with water thoroughly.
