Top Picks From ‘Begin Again’ Movie Starring Keira Knightley

It’s a movie that has been playing on Astro over and over again, so naturally after multiple plays on TV, we (girls) bound to notice something else - other than the lights and crowds of New York City, a singing band and Adam Levine. In the movie, Keira Knightley plays Gretta, a girl with Norah Jones-like voice, who had just broken up with her superstar boyfriend (played by Adam Levine). Gretta is on her way to become the next rising star of a washed-up music producer played by Mark Ruffalo – all the while showcasing her mighty great sense of style.

Keira Knightley’s gorgeous outfits in the movie are something worth drooling for.

Let’s see them one by one.

1)      The Pastel Sleeveless Top and Pleated Pants

She’s carefree, she’s fun, she’s quirky – all these characters are shown in the outfits. Obviously, she spends a lot of time playing the guitar and singing, but she keeps the glitters and whatnots away; letting her voice and character shine. In pastel pink top and soft grey pleated pants – what’s there not to love?

It’s noticeable that she wears this style numerous times in the movie – in different colors, of course, but always, ALWAYS the same simple-top-and-trousers getup.

Like this one. So Audrey Hepburn!

2)      The Tank Top and Folded Jeans

Admittedly, when she’s not performing live with the band, she needs something comfy to accommodate her simple style. Adds in a necklace and you have the perfect lazy-couch to evening strolls ensemble.

3)      The Red Floral Knee-length Dress

She goes on dates with Adam Levine too (which includes listening to iPod, the perfect date), and this knee-length floral red dress speaks volume. It breaks out of her usual cropped pants and plaid shirts; while still maintaining the girl-next-door in her character. A sweet bun for her hair compliments the outfit well!

4)      Long-sleeved Knit Sweater and Jeans

This is another version of her top-and-jeans getup, meant solely for comfort while playing the guitar. It’s quite established now that she doesn’t do much of accessories, and that she keeps her hair to a minimum – all for the definition of her style as a singer. And we still admire our indie sweetheart for it.
