Workout is great for your body and mind. Having at least several workout sessions per week (if not everyday) will do wonders to you. However, it is not as simple as waking up one day and you straight away hit the gym or go for a run. Despite of having the determination to feel better, look better and be healthier, as a beginner there are a few things that need to be considered before you proceed with any workout regime.

1.    The right kind of workout

One of the paramount considerations is what kind of workout that you want to do? There are various types of workout - walking, running, yoga, aerobics, pilates, High-intensity Interval training (HIIT), weightlifting and the list goes on and on.

In order to pick the right one for you, you need to know what your target is. Do you want to loose weight or just need to shape (tone) certain parts of your body? Alternatively, maybe you need a workout regime that will help you with your health condition (for example that helps you with your breathing) or simply aiding you to relax and meditate.

Don’t be too eager picking the one that is too extreme for you and your body just because you want to see a drastic result. For a start, you can choose to walk or jog. Try logging at least 10, 000 - 12, 000 steps a day. Once your stamina starts to build up, you can switch to high impact aerobics or HIIT.

Once you have decided on your type of workout, it’s time to go shopping! Yes, you should invest in some sports attire and fitness gears. You’re embarking your fitness journey, so you should be in your best stance, comfortable with yourself by having the right things on. For instance, if you choose running, buy the proper shoes for running. If you are into yoga, you should have a yoga mat and the suitable outfit. This is important as it will help you to avoid any undesirable incidents or mishaps. Get yourself a fitness tracker. Try some fitness apps available out there so that you can see and record your progress.

3.    The right meals and diet

When you are in your fitness mission, you should observe your eating habits as well. Plan a proper diet. Make sure you start your day with a healthy breakfast that will give you sufficient energy for your workout.

Opt for food that could provide instant energy like avocado, apples, bananas and dark chocolate. You can also have a cup of black coffee before any workout session as it will help to increase your metabolism. Then, after you finish your session, pick something like salmon, hummus or peanut butter (a good source of protein) as this will aid to repair tissues and build muscles.

4.    The right source

Not every workout is suitable for you. So, you need to resort to the right source and materials. The easiest way, hire a personal coach or instructor to assist you with the correct fitness regime. Alternatively, you can do it by yourself. Keep reading and try to acquire as much information as you could. Read health websites and blogs, infographics and reliable articles that could provide the necessary knowledge and encourage you to achieve more. Join health and fitness groups in social media. Take part in discussions; share opinions with others who have the same interest with you. You’ll gain a lot of benefits through this.
