Motherhood is a long, tiring tunnel and we could easily get lost somewhere along the way. Or even, we can’t seem to find the light at the end of this tunnel. So when things like this happen, it’s pivotal to first conquer our minds. One of the ways to achieve that is to make sure that our bodies are fit and healthy!
Now that you have started exercising, it may not take a while before you begin losing interest in what you are doing. You may miss your exercise schedule for a day and there goes the rest of the regimens for the week. But hey, we do not want to quit just yet. Instead, we should get on our feet again, tie your shoe laces and pickup from where you left. So as means to hopping back into the train, here are five ways you can do it.
1. Find a support system
Thanks to technology, a support system can come in many ways especially via social media. Sign up in a support group for health and fitness and you’ll flood your feed with ideas and means of exercises as well as healthy diets. Not only that, you’ll also get motivations from those who are in the same boat as you. From other mothers, fathers, working or students, make friends online and enjoy the tribe to always keep you in line with your goal.
2. Play around the routine
If going to the gym is not as feasible in certain times of the month due to commitments at work or that something unexpected turns up, opt for varieties. Exercising at home definitely work wonders too. Alternatively, reduce the frequency or time span per session to make exercises relatively doable. It’s okay to spend on cardio workout for 10 minutes instead of 30 like you always do because what’s more important is maintaining your habit and developing your perseverance regardless of any situation.
3. Amend your exercise forte
If you’ve been doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout and that you suddenly sore your muscles, opt for low-impact exercises or do Yoga instead. It also works the other way around. There are heaps of workouts that you can always give a try only to make your exercise a little more fun. Be creative and follow what your heart desires.
4. Do it with or without motivation
This is a recent hashtag that is going trendy now and it is undoubtedly true. Getting the result of a fit and healthy body requires intention and discipline more than just motivation. Having set your health goals would mean that you do not rely on motivation solely to keep going because you already established the intention. What should come next is the discipline to complement the effort.
We all know the science behind exercising and the goods that it brings to our body and mind. Without negating the realities of our daily commitments, your exercise regimen can still be maintained. Only that it needs a little change here and there wherever necessary.
