September is coming to an end and boy; do we have a treat for you. Every month we feature some of Malaysia’s most desirable men for our monthly Man Crush Issue whom we discovered on various social media outlets, and this month, we would like to introduce to you to Kirill Mogan! Kirill is a full-time student, a part-time model who has walked the runways of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW), and a football fanatic who plays the sport to keep fit. Talk about a triple threat! While modelling takes most of his time during his off days, attending classes is still his number one focus as he aspires to be a chiropractor one day. So, step aside, McDreamy! We got our own future medic major in town! Read our exclusive interview to know more about young Kirill Mogan.

1.    Give us a little insight on what you do.

Well, currently I am in the midst of completing my studies here in Kuala Lumpur. Part-time, however, I model which I really enjoy as it has allowed me to meet many amazing people and also learn new things. In terms of activities, I play mainly football and futsal.

2.    We understand that you model and are pursuing your studies. How do you balance your schedule?

Sometimes, jobs are set at a time that does not interfere with my studies which is great. But when they do, I try to inform the teachers ahead of time so that, although I did not attend classes, I am still given the things I have missed. Usually if there is nothing big on that day, it wouldn't be a problem, but if there is a test or a presentation, I usually try to reschedule the job since it is something I can't miss.

3.    What are you studying, and do you see yourself following that career path in the future?

I am currently studying a college program which is not directly set for a certain career path but more of a program which allows me to have multiple career path options in the future. However, I plan to go in the line of medicine specifically chiropractic as I find it fun and interesting at the same time.

4.    How did modelling happen for you?

It all started in 2017 when I came about a post on the KLFW casting and I decided to try it out since I already sort of had the height then. Eventually, I made it to the big event and that was what exposed me to this industry and what has brought me to where I am now.

5.    How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as simple and minimalistic; nothing crazy or complicated basically.

6.    What is the one item in your closet that you wear the most?

In most cases, I tend to go for a single-coloured (monotonous) shirt and a pair of black jeans because it is simple, Malaysian-weather-friendly, and something I can wear to a casting which sometimes unexpectedly happens.

7.    Who do you look up to as reference in terms of style?

I don't really have a go-to person in terms of style, but I base my style from different people I see and I try to create something different but at the same time something that I like.

8.    Any fun facts about you?

No, I don't play basketball which I often get asked; I am kind of afraid of heights, I prefer to live by the sea than the city, I love to travel, and I love nature.

9.    Which brand do you wish you could model for?

This question is tough because there are quite a few! But if I were to choose one, I would go with Kenzo.

10.  What are some of the challenges for you as a model at a young age?

I think the most common challenge is when jobs interfere with studies because I have to choose one in the end which sometimes is hard. Other than that, I feel that being young allows you to build yourself in the industry while earning something on the side.

11.  If you could listen to one song on repeat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is also another tough question for me to answer as I tend to get bored of songs which are continuously repeating. But if I were to list one, it would probably be “Drop” by Joe Flizzow by this Malaysian rapper since it can be played in almost every situation and has a good vibe to it.

12.  What other things do you do besides modelling and studying?

I try to focus less on other things at the moment since I am in the midst of completing my studies but during my free time, I mainly play football and futsal. I also love to go out and explore places with my friends such as abandoned buildings and parts of the city where I have not been to before.

13.  If you were stranded on an island with someone, who would that be?

Easy! It would definitely be Bear Grylls as I am assured no matter what the condition I am in, I know I will come out alive in the end!

14.  In your opinion, what is one thing people should pay more attention to?

I think people should pay more attention to the pollution that is going on as there is more and more rubbish appearing in places where they should not be. Like in the ocean, for example.

15.  Who’s your celebrity crush?

Probably Madison Beer.

16.  If you could have a casual chat with one celebrity from Hollywood, dead or alive, who would it be?

I think I would love to chat with someone like Johnny Depp. He acted as Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” which is one of my favourite movies!

17.  What is your go-to karaoke song?

I don't really have one.

18.  If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would love to go to South America since I have not been to that side of the world. I would love to go and experience what life is like there.

19.  Every man should know how to….

Cook! Because you can cook as much as you want for yourself without having to depend on anyone. It is also like a form of art which you can create!

20.  What is the best piece of advice anyone has given you?

Before getting into the industry as well as when I was in it, two friends of mine, Gaber and Luqman, who are also models, told me that whatever happens, do not give up and great things are destined to come because they saw the potential in me. It was one of the factors which helped me a lot in getting to where I am now. @themillionblessings and @luqmanjunaidi are their usernames!
