It is weird that most of the time, we only see models donning clothes that are loaned to them during fashion shows. While they may look good in those designer clothes, it probably is not what they usually wear daily. So, have you ever wondered what their own personal style is like before and after the show?
Well, we got some exclusive photos of our ZALORAYA 2019 models wearing clothes that they are most comfortable in, showcasing their cool and chic look to us all before hitting the runway in couture dresses. Let’s take a look at some of these fashionable styles and analyse them for our own benefit.
1. Deedee Nash (@deedeenash)
Oversized tops are the IN thing in fashion these days and with good reason too. It is comfy and easy to wear making it the go-to top if you do not want to put in much thought to your look, knowing that Deedee Nash is going to change it later anyway. Therefore, she went with her absolute comfiest when she wore an oversized shirt to ZALORAYA. The black colour of it makes it neutral so she can pair it with anything else and still look good wither way. On that day however, she paired it with her bag which is also black in colour.
2. Hidayah Baharudin (@hidayah.baharudin)
Hidayah Baharudin went the easy route that day by wearing a white tank top. A white tank top is essential in womenswear as it works with everything in any given casual situation. For her case, it is easy to take off for when she is getting ready for the fashion show without it messing up her makeup. She brought a knit sweater with her but since it was a hot day, she opted out of it by wrapping it around her waist ala the ‘90s.
3. Nia Atasha (@sleepylllama)
If you have ever seen Nia Atasha’s posts on Instagram, you would know that she is one stylish looking woman. And she did not disappoint us on the day of ZALORAYA when she wore an oversized blazer on top of an oversized flannel. She paired her top with short shorts to show off her golden assets which are her long legs. Completing the look was her military boots which gives off a sense of masculinity, a crossover that is more encouraged in fashion.
4. Rita Nadira (@ritanadira_)
“Simple” is the off duty look that all models are see in at ZALORAYA, and that includes Rita Nadira. She is seen in a white spaghetti strap top with basic blue jeans. Just like Hidayah Baharudin, it is probably because she wanted to change easily when she hit the runway, therefore, a thin spaghetti strap top is the easiest option to go. But she still kept a cardigan over her body at all times whenever she is not on the runway to keep her warm and cosy.
5. Rita Suraya (@ritasuraya)
Different from her sister, Rita Suraya puts on a little more in her off duty look. Most notably her corduroy skirt which we are dying for! With it she brought back classic 80’s street style to modern day which honestly, worked with her plain black t-shirt. This is certainly a look that everybody can get into even if you are not a model.
6. Rubini Sambanthan (@rubinirubi)
One word to describe Rubini Sambanthan’s off duty look is leather. She took a different route and braved herself among the rest of her fellow model friends by donning leather from top to bottom. From her knee-high boots, her jacket, and all the way to her crossbody bag, everything is made from leather which is a bold style move at ZALORAYA. The designer Calvin Klein tee over a turtleneck only adds to the badass look she was going for that day.
7. Wafa de Korte (@wafadekorte)
It was all black for Wafa de Korte when she wore a black tank top and a pair of black trousers to ZALORAYA. But what added a little flair on her outfit was the bowknot belt that was included on her trousers giving it a unique take on an ordinary leather belt that a lot of people would wear. Definitely a fashion item we will seek for our own use.
