How to Stay in Shape for the Holidays

It cannot be denied that it may be hard to resist the temptation of indulging in delicious food especially during the holiday season. You will go home to your parents, get numerous house parties invitation and visiting friends where there will be amazing meals prepared. However, you do not have to feel guilty and just enjoy it as you can still stay in shape for the holidays. Here are some of the ways you can keep in shape without ever having a slight guilt enjoying those scrumptious holiday meals.

  1. Have a healthy breakfast

Those delicious meals are often prepared during dinner time so when you wake up, choose a healthier breakfast choice such as a eggs, smoothies or fruits. Skip the bagels and French toast. This will avoid you from feeling extra guilty for enjoying the holiday meals being offered to you during the evening.

2. Exercise everyday

You do not need to hit the gym every single day during the holidays but squeezing in a brisk walk or yoga will be just perfect. So even though you are not eating healthy during the holidays, you will still feel good burning the calories off daily. Pack your sportswears which are comfortable so that you are motivated to exercise.

3. Drink water

This is an obvious thing to do but important fact to apply. Drink a lot of water so that you can flush out the toxic and feel fuller. You will definitely feel a change when you are hydrated and maintain fresh the entire time. But this doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the sodas and juices available.

4. Snack in moderation

As tempting as it may be to grab what’s available, you need to have a little self-control. As there will be holiday cookies, cakes and candy, indulging in one or two will be no problem. But do opt for a healthier snack option like fresh fruits and nuts.
